Sitio Panamucan is located at barangay San Jose, and is roughly located 6 kilometers away from the highway. Reaching Panamucan one must pass through rugged and muddy terrain, which makes it treacherous and nearly impassable.
Panamucan
has very limited town utilities. Surrounded by fields, they mostly grow their
own food and gain economy by selling to the nearest market situated at the city
proper kilometers away. Houses, mostly made of wood and concrete, compose the
small village. A single church stands at the center with another one beyond the
river. The people composing the community itself live a simple farm life and
but are willing to be open to the busy city life.
None have
ever experienced a flood as devastating as May 25, their river used to flow but
with no danger. This opened the minds of everyone who has heard about it to
start questioning their lives about the environment. Panamucan was unfortunate
enough to be the example of Mother Natures wrath.
